Privacy Policy

How Homeygo collects, uses, holds and discloses personal information. Version 1.1. Last updated: 17th August 2026

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how The Junior Scholars Pty Ltd (ABN 65 664 348 752), trading as Homeygo.ai (“Homeygo”, “we”, “us” or “our”), handles personal information collected through the Homeygo.ai website, cost calculator, AI-powered features and builder platform (the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs").

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that we will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information as described in this Policy.

2. What personal information we collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you use the Platform.

From customers (people pricing a build):

Your name, email address and mobile number, provided when you register and verify your account. We may use your mobile number to verify your account and to contact you by phone or SMS about your estimate, your enquiry and your build.

The project details you enter into the calculator (such as suburb, land size, home specifications and your indicated budget).

Records of your activity, such as estimates generated, PDFs downloaded, and quote or connection requests you make.

From builders (businesses registering on the Platform):

Business and contact details, including business name, ABN/ACN, builder licence number, email and phone.

Details of directors, owners, authorised representatives and contact persons where reasonably required to verify or manage the builder account.

Profile content you provide, such as your description, logo, photographs, service areas and ratings information.

Automatically:

Basic technical information such as your IP address and general usage data, used for security, rate-limiting and to operate and improve the Platform.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act), and ask that you do not provide it through the Platform.

You do not have to provide us with personal information. However, if you do not provide information that we reasonably require, we may not be able to create or verify your account, generate estimates, provide requested Platform features, connect you with builders or respond to your enquiries.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you, when you register, verify your email, use the calculator, request a quote, or register your interest in a builder.

Automatically, through your use of the Platform (for example, technical logs).

From publicly available sources and government or industry registers, including the Australian Business Register, ASIC registers and relevant state or territory builder licensing registers, for the purposes of verifying builder identity, business registration, licensing and eligibility to participate on the Platform.

4. Why we collect and use it

We collect, hold and use personal information to:

Create and manage your account and verify your identity by one-time code.

Provide the calculator, generate estimates and PDFs, and operate the AI assistant.

Process information submitted through AI-powered features to generate construction estimates, explanations, recommendations, responses and other requested outputs, including through third-party AI service providers.

Use automated processes to generate indicative construction estimates, organise Platform information, identify potentially relevant builders and personalise Platform content.

Automated outputs may be based on the information you provide and assumptions, rules, statistical information or AI-generated analysis. Homeygo does not use these automated processes to make legally binding decisions about you.

Connect customers with builders — including passing your project details and contact information to a builder when you request a quote from them.

Record customer interest in builders displayed or recommended through the Platform and, where appropriate, contact a builder about joining Homeygo or responding to an opportunity. Unless the customer has requested a quote or otherwise expressly agreed, we will not provide the builder with the customer’s name, contact details or identifiable project information.

Operate, secure, maintain and improve the Platform, including preventing fraud, abuse and misuse.

Analyse how the Platform is used, test and improve our calculator and other Platform features, conduct internal reporting and develop new services.

Communicate with you about your account, your requests, and (where permitted) relevant updates.

Comply with our legal obligations.

We may verify builder licence numbers, ABNs, ACNs and other publicly available business information using government registers or trusted third-party sources before approving a builder account.

Some Platform features use artificial intelligence to assist in generating estimates, recommendations or responses. Personal information submitted through those features may be processed by trusted AI service providers solely for providing the requested services. You should not enter sensitive information, financial account information, identification documents or confidential third-party information into the AI assistant unless the Platform expressly requests that information.

We retain construction project information entered into the Platform to generate estimates, improve the accuracy of our estimation models, analyse industry trends and enhance our services. Where possible, this information is de-identified before being used for analytics or product improvement.

We will only use your personal information for a purpose you would reasonably expect, or a purpose permitted by the Privacy Act.

5. When we disclose personal information

We disclose personal information in limited circumstances:

To builders: when you actively request a quote, connection or contact from a builder, we may provide that builder with your name, contact details and relevant project information so that the builder can respond. Before submitting the request, we will identify the information that will be shared. We do not provide your identifiable contact details to a builder merely because you viewed the builder’s profile or expressed general interest.

To contractors and service providers that assist us to host, maintain, secure, support and operate the Platform, communicate with users, provide AI-powered functionality, verify businesses, process analytics and provide professional advice.

Where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Homeygo, our users or others.

To a purchaser or successor if our business is sold or restructured, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell your personal information. We may create and use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, research, reporting, service improvement and industry insights. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that such information is not reasonably capable of identifying an individual before using it for those purposes.

6. Third-party services and overseas disclosure

We use trusted third-party providers to operate and support the Platform. Some of these providers, or their servers, may be located outside Australia, which means your personal information may be stored or processed overseas. The types of providers we use may include:

Web and application hosting providers, database infrastructure (for example, our website host and database provider), which stores account and project data.

Email delivery and communication services, used to send verification codes and notifications.

An AI service provider, used to power the in-app assistant.

Business verification sources, such as the Australian Business Register, for builder checks.

Professional advisers, security providers and technical contractors

Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs. You can ask us for further information about the current categories of providers and the countries involved by contacting us at hello@homeygo.ai

Where practicable, we will provide information about the countries in which overseas recipients are likely to be located upon request.

7. How we hold and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, encryption in transit, restricted administrative access secured with multi-factor authentication, and rate-limiting.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law, and take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it when no longer needed.

The period for which we retain information varies according to the type of information, why it was collected, whether an account remains active, whether a transaction or dispute is ongoing, and any applicable legal, taxation, accounting, fraud-prevention or record-keeping requirements.

8. Direct marketing

We may send you information about Homeygo products, services, builders, promotions or Platform updates where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.

Service-related communications, including verification codes, security notices, quote-request updates and account messages, are not marketing communications and may be sent where reasonably necessary to provide the Platform.

We may contact you by email, SMS or telephone. Service-related contact — including checking in about an estimate you have generated, an enquiry you have made, or a build in progress — is not marketing. Where we contact you by telephone for marketing purposes, we will comply with the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth) and will stop contacting you on request. You can ask us not to contact you by phone or SMS at any time by emailing hello@homeygo.ai, and we will record and honour that request.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe facility in the communication or contacting us. We will process opt-out requests within a reasonable period and will not charge you for doing so.

Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary service or transactional communications.

9. Cookies and analytics

The Platform may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.

These technologies may include:

strictly necessary cookies used for authentication, account security and Platform functionality;

preference cookies used to remember selections and settings;

analytics technologies used to understand traffic and Platform usage; and

advertising or marketing technologies, but only if Homeygo introduces and uses them.

Where required, we will provide additional information or obtain consent through a cookie notice or consent tool. Third-party analytics and integration providers may also collect technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

10. Your rights — access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete.

To make a request, contact us at hello@homeygo.ai . We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. In limited circumstances permitted by law we may decline a request, and if so we will explain why.

11. Account deletion and data retention

You may request that we close your account and delete or de-identify personal information associated with it by contacting us using the details below. We may retain information where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, maintain transaction and consent records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Closing an account may not automatically remove information already lawfully disclosed to a builder or another third party at your request. You may need to contact that third party directly regarding information it independently holds.

12. Complaints

Please provide sufficient details about your concern and any relevant documents. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days. If we require more time, we will explain the reason and provide an expected response timeframe.

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us at hello@homeygo.ai so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

13. Data breaches

We maintain procedures to respond to data breaches. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm and is notifiable under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by law.

If we become aware of a suspected data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with our data-breach response procedures.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the Platform, with the “last updated” date shown at the top. Significant changes will be notified where appropriate.

Where a change materially affects how we collect, use or disclose personal information, we may provide additional notice through the Platform, by email or at the time the relevant information is collected.
