Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how [●] (ABN [●]) ("Homeygo", "we", "us", "our") handles personal information collected through the Homeygo.ai website, cost calculator and builder platform (the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs").
By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and handling of your personal information as described in this Policy.
2. What personal information we collect
From customers (people pricing a build):
- Your name, email address and mobile number, provided when you register and verify your account.
- The project details you enter into the calculator (such as suburb, land size, home specifications and your indicated budget).
- Records of your activity, such as estimates generated, PDFs downloaded, and quote or connection requests you make.
From builders (businesses registering on the Platform):
- Business and contact details, including business name, ABN/ACN, builder licence number, email and phone.
- Profile content you provide, such as your description, logo, photographs, service areas and ratings information.
Automatically:
- Basic technical information such as your IP address and general usage data, used for security, rate-limiting and to operate and improve the Platform.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act), and ask that you do not provide it through the Platform.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you register, verify your email, use the calculator, request a quote, or register your interest in a builder.
- Automatically, through your use of the Platform (for example, technical logs).
- From public registers, for builders — for example, verifying an ABN against the Australian Business Register.
4. Why we collect and use it
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity by one-time code.
- Provide the calculator, generate estimates and PDFs, and operate the AI assistant.
- Connect customers with builders — including passing your project details and contact information to a builder when you request a quote from them.
- Record customer interest in recommended builders, and contact those builders about the opportunity to join Homeygo.
- Operate, secure, maintain and improve the Platform, including preventing fraud, abuse and misuse.
- Communicate with you about your account, your requests, and (where permitted) relevant updates.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We will only use your personal information for a purpose you would reasonably expect, or a purpose permitted by the Privacy Act.
5. When we disclose personal information
- To builders: when you (a customer) request a quote from a builder, we share your name, contact details and project information with that builder so they can respond to you. By requesting a quote, you consent to this disclosure.
- To service providers who help us run the Platform (see section 6).
- Where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Homeygo, our users or others.
- To a purchaser or successor if our business is sold or restructured, subject to appropriate protections.
We do not sell your personal information. We may use de-identified, aggregated information (which does not identify you) to analyse and improve the Platform.
6. Third-party services and overseas disclosure
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Platform. Some of these providers, or their servers, may be located outside Australia, which means your personal information may be stored or processed overseas. The providers we currently use include:
- Hosting and database infrastructure, which stores account and project data.
- Email delivery services, used to send verification codes and notifications.
- An AI service provider, used to power the in-app assistant.
- Business verification sources, such as the Australian Business Register, for builder checks.
Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs. You can ask us for the current list of providers and the countries involved by contacting us at hello@homeygo.ai.
7. How we hold and protect your information
- We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, encryption in transit, restricted administrative access secured with multi-factor authentication, and rate-limiting.
- No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law, and take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it when no longer needed.
8. Direct marketing
If we send you marketing communications, we will only do so where permitted by law, and every such message will include a simple way to opt out. You can also ask us at any time to stop sending you marketing by contacting us. We do not use your personal information for marketing in a way you would not reasonably expect.
9. Cookies and analytics
The Platform may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.
10. Your rights — access and correction
- You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete.
- To make a request, contact us at hello@homeygo.ai. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. In limited circumstances permitted by law we may decline a request, and if so we will explain why.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us at hello@homeygo.ai so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
12. Data breaches
We maintain procedures to respond to data breaches. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm and is notifiable under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by law.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the Platform, with the “last updated” date shown at the top. Significant changes will be notified where appropriate.
